19 of the Russian's twenty-one victories have been achieved on hardcourt

A resurgent Daniil Medvedev secured his first title for nearly 30 months with a win over opponent Moutet in the competition championship match.

The athlete, a former top-ranked player, has endured a challenging period, winning just a single victory at the Grand Slams and suffering a difficult moment at the New York tournament.

Medvedev's varied form on the ATP Tour - and issues with his service game in especial - resulted in him falling of the world's top 10 and finally separating with long-time trainer Cervara.

Presently training with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has steadily progressed in the last few weeks - climaxing in a hard-fought competitive victory over Frenchman Moutet.

It is Medvedev's first championship after the Rome competition and initial on a hardcourt after March of that year.

Success also means he has achieved twenty-one championships at twenty-one different competitions.

"For the first time I have attended a competition with my children together, so to win a title is particularly special," said ranked player the champion.

"This championship is in dedication of my second daughter Victoria, because the first title I achieved when my child my daughter was born was for her."

The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his last six championship matches, comprising in that event previously this season.

The player's retrieving play style and frequent reactions on the tennis court had led observers to wonder if his ability to perform at the highest level was finished.

But the athlete has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, making an effort to approach the net and play positively, supported by an enhanced serving game.

He fought back from a disadvantage in the first set against the difficult Moutet, securing four of the final five points to go ahead.

Both players traded break points in the middle set before the challenger, attempting for his initial tour championship, took control to create a final set.

He saved 4 early-game opportunities in a close deciding set before the Russian secured a break to fifteen to close out the victory.

Suitably, the winner clinched the win with a shot at the front of the court, with Moutet incapable to handle a shot after a lengthy match.
